Questions
Frequently asked
What happens after the trial?
Nothing — and that is deliberate. The trial takes no card, so there is no way for it to roll into a charge; when it ends, Adless simply returns to the free tier and keeps working. If you want Pro you subscribe explicitly, and only then are you charged $1.99/month (or $15/year). Cancel anytime from the extension's settings — no hoops, no retention flows.
Can I use Free forever?
Absolutely — and the free tier is genuinely complete: ad blocking, trackers, malware, crypto-miner and phishing site blocking, anti-adblock camouflage, and the full YouTube layout controls, with no limits. Pro adds cookie banner blocking, 6-hourly priority rule updates, and address-level threat matching.
Does this replace Chrome's Safe Browsing?
No — leave Safe Browsing on. Google's list is better-sourced than any open feed. Adless is a second opinion that sends nothing: the check runs against a list stored on your device, and no address you visit is ever transmitted. That is the part Safe Browsing cannot offer you.
What does the threat protection not catch?
A brand-new phishing site is invisible to us before a feed lists it — typically hours after it appears, sometimes longer, and nothing here protects you inside that window. We check web addresses, not page contents, so a malicious file served from an address no feed has listed will not be flagged. The extension shows you the live entry count, every source feed, its licence and its last-updated date under Settings → Protection — and says plainly when it has nothing downloaded, rather than showing you a zero.
How do payments work?
Payments are handled securely through Stripe via ExtensionPay. We never see your card details.
Is there a refund policy?
Yes — if you're not satisfied within 30 days, email us and we'll refund you. No questions asked.
