Getting started
Is Adless hard to set up?
No. You click one button, your browser asks "Add extension?", you say yes, and it's done. There is no account, no password, and no settings screen you have to get right.
Will it slow down my computer?
No — usually the opposite. Ads and trackers are a large part of what makes pages slow to load. With them removed, most pages open faster.
Does it work on my phone or tablet?
Adless works in the Chrome and Edge browsers on computers — Windows laptops, desktops and Macs. It doesn't run on phones or tablets yet.
Do I need to update it?
No. Your browser updates Adless automatically, and the scam-site list refreshes itself in the background — every 48 hours on the free version, every 6 hours on Pro. There is nothing for you to check or click.
Is it safe?
Can Adless see what I browse?
The checking happens on your own computer, against a list downloaded to your machine — so visiting a page costs no network request and no address is sent anywhere in order to check it. We build no profile of you, ever. Three things can carry a page you visited, and none happens on its own: a breakage report and a false-positive report, which both need you to tap Send and show you exactly what goes, and the optional scam report, which is off unless you switch it on. Our privacy policy lists every connection Adless makes.
Why does the browser say it can "read and change data on websites"?
That's the standard permission every ad blocker needs — it's how Adless removes ads from the page in front of you, and how the scam checks can run on any page, since a phishing page can be any page. It describes what the add-on is able to do inside your browser, not what we collect.
What happens when a scam page is blocked?
Instead of the dangerous page, you see a calm message explaining that the address matched a known scam — for example a fake bank page whose address is one letter off. Nothing from the page loads. No flashing red screens, no alarms.
Will Adless ever show me pop-ups of its own?
Never. No pop-ups, no nag screens, no ads of our own. If Adless has nothing to tell you, it stays silent — and that is enforced by an automated check in our build pipeline, not just promised.
Money questions
What's free and what costs money?
Ad blocking, tracker blocking, scam and malware site blocking, anti-adblock camouflage and the tidier YouTube are all free, forever. Pro adds the on-page guards (Credential Sentry, scare pages, fake checkouts, seed-phrase and clipboard protection), address-level matching against the full threat feed, faster threat updates, cookie windows answered for you, and Facebook sponsored posts hidden — $1.99 a month, or $15 for a whole year.
Do I need a card for the free trial?
No. The 7-day Pro trial asks for no card number at all, so it cannot turn into a charge you didn't expect. When the week is over, Pro simply switches off unless you choose to subscribe.
How do I cancel?
One click in the Adless panel, any time. And if you subscribed less than 30 days ago, you get a full refund — no questions asked, no phone calls to sit through.
