Billing, Cancellation & Refunds
Last updated: July 2026
The single biggest source of one-star reviews in the ad-blocker category is billing — surprise charges, and cancellation flows that require an email or a ticket. This page is our written commitment on every one of those points, and it describes only what is actually in place today.
What you pay
- Free Free — $0, forever. Ad and tracker blocking, malware, crypto-miner and phishing site blocking, the YouTube layout tidy, anti-adblock camouflage, per-site pause and the allowlist never move behind a paywall.
- Adless Pro, monthly Pro — $1.99 per month.
- Adless Pro, yearly Pro — $15 per year. Twelve monthly payments come to $23.88, so the yearly plan saves $8.88 — about 37%.
- Trial: 7 days, no card required.
Payments are processed by Stripe, through ExtensionPay's hosted checkout. Adless never sees or stores your card details.
The trial cannot turn into a charge
The 7-day trial takes no card at all, so there is no payment method for us to charge and a trial-to-paid charge is impossible by construction. When the trial ends, Adless simply goes back to the free tier and keeps working. If you want Pro after that, you subscribe explicitly, and only then is anything charged.
What the subscription buys Pro
Everything Pro adds works the moment you pay, and nothing else:
- Address-level threat matching — phishing and malware matching against the full 550,000+ feed, refreshed every 6 hours, plus on-device lookalike-domain warnings. The list is matched locally; no address you visit is transmitted.
- The Security Shield guards — on-device scam detectors: Credential Sentry, the seed-phrase guard, Fake-checkout Shield, paste-and-run and clipboard-swap protection, and the Scare-page Shield (which reacts to a fake "your PC is infected" page after it loads — it does not block the page in advance). Each judges the page on your device and shows a warning; none of it is transmitted.
- Cookie-banner auto-hiding — the Annoyances category, off by default until you switch it on. Clears consent banners across the major platforms (OneTrust, Cookiebot, Didomi, Quantcast, TrustArc, Usercentrics and others), broad coverage rather than a guarantee for every site.
- FeedGuard — hides the sponsored posts in your Facebook feed. It reads a copy of the feed on-device to classify ads and hides the sponsored ones locally; it never alters what Facebook sends. Off by default.
- Shield Link-Cleaner — strips tracking parameters (
utm_source,fbclid,gclid, and the like) from links as they load. Off by default; Chrome performs the strip in its own network stack. - Priority rule updates — Adless checks for new fixes every 6 hours instead of every 48.
Safety is never sold. Malware, crypto-miner and phishing site blocking, and anti-adblock camouflage, are free forever — Pro only adds the address-level layer on top of them. Anything on our roadmap is not part of Pro until it actually ships.
When you are charged, and how renewal works
You are charged once, at the moment you subscribe. After that the subscription renews automatically — monthly on a monthly plan, yearly on a yearly plan — at the same price, until you cancel.
Before a yearly plan renews, we send you a plain reminder email. Stripe sends it to your checkout address ahead of the renewal, and it simply states the amount and the date it will be charged, with a direct link to cancel. No countdown, no "your discount is expiring", no buried cancel link. And either way, a renewal charge is covered by the 30-day refund below in exactly the same way as a first charge, so if one ever arrives at a moment you did not want it, write to us and you get your money back.
We will not change your price without telling you before it takes effect and giving you a friction-free way out.
How to cancel
Cancelling never requires a ticket, a phone call, or sitting through a retention offer. In the extension, open Settings → Adless Pro → Manage subscription: that opens the Stripe-hosted billing portal for your account. Cancelling there is a couple of clicks — cancel, then confirm — and takes under a minute. There is no retention offer to click past and no discount interstitial to decline.
If that page does not let you finish for any reason, email support@adless.pro and we will cancel it for you — and refund the last charge too if it was within 30 days.
Cancelling stops all future charges. Pro keeps working until the end of the period you have already paid for; you do not lose the time you bought. We will never make cancelling harder than subscribing.
30-day refund, no questions asked
Any charge — first payment or renewal, monthly or yearly — is refundable in full for 30 days from the day it was made. You do not need to give a reason, and we will not ask for one. One request, one refund. Refunds are issued to the original payment method via Stripe.
How to request one: email support@adless.pro, or use the form on our Help page. Tell us the email address you used at checkout — that is all we need to find the charge.
How long it takes: we aim to issue the refund within 2 business days of your request. Once issued, your bank or card issuer usually takes a few more days to post it — that part is out of our hands.
After 30 days: the no-questions guarantee is the 30-day window, but write to us anyway. Requests past 30 days are read by a human and decided case by case, and we would rather refund you than have you feel cheated.
A statement line you will recognise
Every charge shows up on your card statement with the descriptor ADLESS, so you always know exactly what it is. No mystery acronym, no unfamiliar parent-company name — just ADLESS.
A charge you do not recognise
If a charge appears that you do not recognise as ours, contact us and we will identify it for you. If it is ours and it is within 30 days, the refund promise above applies with no questions asked.
What we will never do
- Charge you during or after the free trial — the trial takes no card, so it cannot happen.
- Change your price without telling you before it takes effect, and giving you an easy way out.
- Make cancellation harder than subscribing.
- Argue with a refund request made within 30 days.
- Nag you about upgrading. Free users see one calm card in the popup; that is all, ever. The extension will never open a tab, popup or notification about billing that you did not ask for.
